Week of December 9th - 13th !!!

Theme of the Month/Week (Tema del Mes/Semana): “My Culture and Tradition/Mi Cultura y Tradicion”

This week we will be talking about our family traditions and how people around the world celebrate Christmas. We also will make some Christmas ornaments and be prepared for our big event: The Christmas Party.

New words:
·         strong/fuerte, soft/suave
·         The months of the year/los meses del ano
·         Who wants…? Quien quiere…?
·         How is the weather?/Como esta el tiempo?.
·         We will continue learning more words in Spanish with the letter “A”, “a”

Special events this week/Welcome/Birthdays (Eventos especiales esta semana/Bienvenida/Cumpleanos):
The Student of this week is Darcy Demidovich.Everybody is excited to hear more about
As we are working with the letter “A”, we would like to ask you to send with your child any object that its name in Spanish starts with this letter.  

Also, we would like to congratulate Richard De Jesus, we is our November winner of the Book Worm Club!


Friendly Remainders (Recordatorios a los Padres de Familia):
We are still missing some Report Cards, We will appreciate if you can return it to the teachers this week.
On Monday we will be sending home the template for our All Art Together project this month, to fill our classroom with Christmas decoration.
We understand that this is a busy month, so we will interrupt our Bookworm Club until January.  


Homework this week (Tarea de esta semana):

Math and Art: we will make a snowman with three circles (big, medium and small), and a candy cane with red and white play-doh.

Language and Cognitive: Looking some books, we will describe people’s actions and we will continue learning words with the letter “A”

Fine Motor: we will cut vertical lines with scissors.

Gross Motor: basketball game.

Cooking: we will make Christmas cookies.


Other/Thank you/Upcoming events (Otros/Agradecimientos/Proximos eventos)

December 18- 10:00 am Sff! will receive a especial visit from Santa. Please bring a book gift wrapped for your child and place it in the box next to the Christmas tree. Make sure the present is labeled with your child's name.

December 20: our Holiday Celebration will be held at the Cary senior Center at Bond Park, from 4:00 – 5:30. Please remember that Sff will be closed at 2:30 p.m.

December 26th: Teacher’s Work Day


December 31st – January 1st: New Year
