Week of April 7th to 11th.

 Dear Parents:

The International Party is right around the corner.  Sapitos class is getting ready and we are so excited!  We want to thank you in advance for all your suport.
This week, we will keep talking about the Latin American countries, in particular about Mexico: its food, music, dances, toys and traditions.

Special Activities:
We will make a "balero" (mexican toy)

Special Events:
·         We are so glad to welcome Kayla Smith!! Who just move from our Glendwood location and also a warm welcome to Quincy and Jillian who just got promoted  from monitos class.
·         Sammy will be visiting Sam's house. Sammy told us he  is having so much fun with all of you!

Friendly Remainders:
We will need volunteers on Friday 11 before the International Party to help us at the class room to start getting ready. Please also  take a moment and sign up the sheet that is available at the lobby if you would like to donate something for the party.  Thank you so much for all your support, we really appreciate.

 Thank you notes:
1.      A few weeks ago we received a special gift from Janine and Patrick Plummer (Ositos class): a full set of butterflies. Our class saw the cycle of life of the butterflies and last Wednesday, Sapitos class saw flying all of them. Thank you for let us live this wonderful experience.
2.      We appreciate when you help us reinforcing classroom rules, manners and routines, like washing hands when arriving, keeping the cubbies with the necessary, being on time, and bringing toys only on PJ’s  day (the First Friday of every month) and during special activities.

Special notes:
Most of our Sapitos have already the ability to get dress by themselves (like put the jacket on, zipper up/down, put the shoes on). And skills like pour the milk, juice, water, fold their blankets.  They also help us to keep the class organized, something that we really appreciate it.
Next week is the Week of the Young Child, (April 6–12) an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association. The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this celebration  as a time to recognize that children's opportunities are our responsibilities, and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment—at home, at child care, at school, and in the community—that will promote their success in life. Here are some examples of activities to celebrate Week of the Young Child:
- Join NAEYC for their Week of the Young Child Music Fest on Google Hangout on April 9th at 1 PM.
- Let us know if you have a chance to come and read a book for our children.
