Hello Sapitos Parents: Our Sapitos had a blast at the Costume Parade last Friday, and they looked so cute in their costumes. Without your help this event wouldn’t be a successful one. Thank you/ Gracias.    

This week we will start a new theme: My family. The word “Family” has always meant many things to many people. For us “Family” is the most important influence in a child’s life, we believe each family is unique, and we respect all family values and cultural traditions. Through the different activities that we will have this week, we will make our Sapitos reinforce their love and respect for their families.

Also, we want to let you know that in order to be ready to write, children need to have developed hand skills. This means they need to have the strength and dexterity to handle, and control, small objects with their hands. But, they will also need to develop the muscles in their forearm and upper body to provide the strength and stability that will allow them to use their hands to manipulate and control writing instruments. For this reason, we would like to let you know this week we will start providing our Sapitos with opportunities to develop pre-writing skills.

Student of the week

The Student of the Week is ZOE BURILL. You can bring your favorite toy, book, or picture during this week to share with your friends.

Family Story Time this month

We love family involvement! As since we will be learning and talking about The Family, I would like to invite during the month of November, every Friday at 4:00pm any family member that would like to come and read a story to our Sapitos. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside our classroom, so you can choose the best date that works for you or your family member.

Thank you for your support in our activities! Our Sapitos will love these activities!

Family Project

Starting this month, we will start a new family activity called “Art Family Project”. Children enjoy doing art especially if they are helped by their parents. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to have special time and create a wonderful art to share with his/her classmates and to be displayed in his/her classroom.

This month the topic is “The Family” and the project is “The Family Tree”. You and your child will create a family tree of all your family members. Get creative and have fun!

This project is due on Monday November 10^th!

Friendly Reminders:

·         If you haven’t brought your family yet, this is the perfect time to do it. We are going to have a special activity and we will need to have all pictures.

·         The weather is getting cold; please bring a cozy blanket and appropriate cloths for your child.

·         Please label all your child’s belongings to avoid any confusion or any lost item.

Important Upcoming Dates:

·         November 04^th: Speech Screening Therapy. Permission slip were sent on Monday, if you need an additional copy please ask at the front desk.

·         November 14^th :report card are sent home

·         November 17^th - 21^st parent-teacher conference. Sign-up sheet will be posted outside our classroom one week before, so we can schedule conferences in advance with those parents that would may have any question or concerns

·         November 26^th: Thanksgiving celebration more information coming soon.
