Week of May 4th-8th

Sapitos Class
Ms. Amparo & Ms. Silvia
Theme of the week: “How Things Work"
Week of May 4th – May 8th

Hello Sapitos Parents:
This is a new and exciting theme that we will cover all month. Our children will be exploring many aspect of this theme, such as: how things are made, how they have changed (from the past to the present) and how they work. They will explore the marvelous world of inventions and prepare for our Science Fair.
Our goal for helping our children to understand the new theme is to provide them with plenty of opportunities to develop their curiosity using their senses via hand-on-activities - which is the best way children learn.
On Friday 8th we will have a special celebration to honor the most important person in our children’s life: their Mother. The Sapitos are working hard to give their Moms a nice surprise.
Our Sapitos will also learn this week, why “5 de Mayo” has become an occasion to celebrate Hispanic culture in the United States.
As May is “National Physical Fitness and Sports Month”, our children will be doing more exercises and physical activities and, of course, you will get some tips about this topic to do at home.
Tips from NHLBI (as a part of the NIH and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services):
Walk whenever possible (take a family walk after dinner, make a Saturday morning walk a family habit, go for a half-hour walk instead of watching TV).
Move more in your home (get your children to the yard to help you rake, weed or plant, ask your children to help with active chores around the house).
Live actively (enroll your children in community sports teams or lessons, do sit-ups in front of the TV and have a competition with your children, play with your children at least 30 minutes at day).
Song of the Month (Cancion del mes)
A VOLAR

Poesia/ Poem
Día de la Madre
  sabes mamita cuánto te quiero
te lo he dicho mil veces
sólo con besos
pero hoy es tu día
y te lo digo de nuevo
te quiero mamita
así hasta el cielo.

Adivinanza Riddle
Va por el cielo
Como ventarrón
Lleva pasajeros
Y anda a motor
            El avión

Trabalenguas
Corre corre rapidito,
Solo para en la estación,
Corre corre rapidito,
Que el tren ya te dejó.

Praxias: Bucofacial excercises
