Week of July 6th – 10th

Theme of the Week (Tema De la Semana):         

“The aquatic world”

Hello Sapitos parents!

We hope you have had a great week end. For this next week we will talk about “The Aquatic World.” We will learn about which animals live in the ocean and how to identify their names.  In addition, we will talk about how we can prevent their extinction. The children will have many activities, including: designing their favorite sea animal, making their own ocean, painting on wall paper or an empty plastic bottle, with food coloring and stickers.

We will start having our splash days this week and pretend to be in the ocean! At home you can encourage your child by pretending to be in the ocean when he/she is taking a bath.  You could also show them sea animals and ask about the following: their names, what they eat, how they live in that place.  It is important that they are learning while playing!

Special Activities

Monday July 6^th – Your child is welcome to bring any stuffed sea animal toy!

Friday July 10^th - We will have a special activity called “Party under the Ocean.” Please send your child in an aquatic themed costume. (i.e. pirate, siren, sailor, and sea animal.)

Friendly Reminders:

·         Splash days will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please send your child wearing her/his swim suit with sunscreen on.

·         Please send your child’s towel labeled with your child’s name

·         Please also send extra shoes and clothes as well.

·         Please take your child’s art that is in her/his cubby.
