Week of April 28th - May 2nd !!!

Week of (Semana de): April 28^th – May 2^nd.    Theme of the Month/Week (Tema del Mest/Semana): “How we grow /Como crecemos”

This week we are going to talk about our physical development and how our bodies change in the phases from baby to adult.

The children will continue developing skills in Mathematics, Language, Reading/Writing, Critical Thinking and Reasoning.

They will practice and learn some new words: baby/bebe, child/nino-nina, teenager/adolescente, grown up/adulto, senior/adulto mayor, to grow up/crecer, to change/cambiar.

Sammy will be visiting Meadow”house this week. He is so excited to play with her and Dominiique. Have fun..

Friendly Remainders (Recordatorios  a los Padres de Familia):

Your children are developing and practicing so many skills at school, like pouring milk into the cup, folding the blanket after nap, dressing and undressing by themselves, counting to twenty when washing hands, cleaning and organizing the toys when moving from one area to another, expressing their feelings and ideas spontaneously and so on. Please help us to reinforce these skills in your children by practicing at home every day.

Homework these weeks (Tarea de estas semanas):

We will contrast your children’s height, from the beginning of the school year until now, by measuring them again.

The children will continue practicing to write their names, and the numbers.

Art may seem like fun and games -- and it is! -- but you may not realize that your child is actually learning a lot through exploring the arts and doing art activities. Your children will gain useful life skills through art, so encourage them to get creative, and you will quickly see that your children are picking up these skills: Communication, problem-solving, social-emotional, fine motor, self-expression and creativity. Take a time to look your children’s art work at the ART FAIR during this week and don’t forget to congratulate them for their effort.

Other/Thank you/Upcoming events (Otros/Agradecimientos/Proximos eventos)

Thank you to Mike Manfre, the Sapitos has learned a lot about bees and how they help to protect the planet earth. He came on Tuesday 22^nd, Earth’s Day, and explained a lot of interesting things  about these insects, he brought some friendly bees, honey and wax, and of course Kieran was so happy having his “Super Hero” talking to his friends. The Sapitos and the teachers enjoyed the explanation.
