Week of June 29th – July 3rd
Theme of the week” Celebrating Independence Day/Celebrando el Dia de la Independencia.

Dear Sapitos Parents,
Happy Friday! Our children are having so much fun with the activities that we have prepared for Summer Camp. Last week they enjoy going camping and learning the things they need for this popular summer activity.
This week we will help our children better understand why we celebrate Independence Day, we will be talking about United States history, the symbols, and the President (including where he lives and his role). We will also have many art activities and a parade to celebrate the birthday of the United States.
Tips:
·         Read books about America’s history to your children, like: The Story of America’s Birthday by Patricia Pingry, Biscuit’s Fourth of July by Alyssa Satin Capucilli, The Fourth of July Story by Alice Dalgliesh, F is for Flag by Wendy Cheyette Lew,  L is for Liberty by Wendy Cheyette Lew, Red, White, and Blue by John Herman, The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key. [Editor’s Note: This book list was taken from the following website: http://alphabetobsessed.com/tag/childrens-books-for-4th-of-july If you’re unable to create your own list to use in this blog post, please be sure to give credit to the author of the list.]
