Week of October 19^th – October 23^rd

Theme of the Week: “Mi Familia / My Family”

 

Hello Sapitos Parents, I hope you have had a great week!

This week we will talk about “Family.” The children will take time to talk about their family with their peers. They also will identify different types of families by observing pictures, cutting them from magazines, and making a collage. In addition, children will distinguish the roles that each member that a family has, they will identify the things that they can do to help at home and school.

Please share your most favorite activities that you like to have as a family. Please  write it on a piece of paper and drop it in a basket that I will have with the label: “My family activities” at the class. 

We have worked on preparing our children, using various activities, for the last few weeks to acheive the next level of their education in their notebooks. We are so proud and excited to see them find interest in this. Your collaboration is important for us as teachers. Homework will be sent home, please help your children by spending quality time with them. Provide positive feedback to them when they start and when they finish. Bring the notebook back on the day assigned.    

Special Events, Welcome and Birthdays (Eventos especiales, Bienvenidas y Estudiante de la Semana.

We are very excited to have Estela Delabrvere Ortega as the student of week. We are sure we will enjoy her mother/father visit at our class.

Upcoming Events:

·       October 23^rd: “Parent’s Night Out” from 6 – 9pm. Please check our Friday news for prices and more information. This event is a fundraising activity for our upcoming Holiday Party in December. Thank you for your support!

·         October 30th: Afternoon Costume Parade - Trick or Treat. Donations for healthy snacks and treats for children (appropriate for their age) are welcome.  Sign-up sheets will be posted outside each class. You will receive more information soon regarding this activity. Parent participation is encouraged.

Friendly Reminders:

·         Please sign the sheet of the student of week that it’s in front our classroom’s door. We would like to know more about your child and family.

·         Help children to say their full name. (this is one of the objectives for this semester)

·         Encourage your children to dress by themselves.

·         Motivate your child to count from 1-20.

·         Help your child to identify numbers and vowels.
