Week of October 5^th – October 9^th

Theme of the Week: “Mis Sentimientos /My Feelings”

 Dear Sapitos Parents,

I hope you have had a great weekend! For this week the children will learn to identify and express emotions in a positive and healthy way. We will have activities which will help to children to give words to their feelings. In addition, children will distinguish between emotions and actions in order to develop their socio-emotional skills. 

At home, you can use picture books to demonstrate feelings. Praise your child when they talk about their feelings. Talk to them about emotions when playing games, eating dinner or riding in the car. In addition, share your own feelings with them! The more your child practices, the quicker she/he will learn.

Student of the week:

We are very excited to have Isaac as the student of week. We are sure we will enjoy his mother/father visit at our class.

Friendly Reminders:

Please sign-up on the sheet that is in front our classroom door for the student of week. We would like to know more about your child and family.

·         Help children to say their full name.

·         Encourage your children to dress by themselves.

·         Motivate your child to count from 1-20

·         Help your child to identify numbers and vowels

Upcoming Activities:

·         October 9^th: “Discovery of America Puppet Show” for our children presented by Mariquitas and Buhitos Teachers.

·         October 16th: We are going to Phillips Farms in Cary. Permission slips will be sent home starting next week. Make sure to return them and let us know if your child is participating of this activity or staying at Sff! so we can plan accordingly. This is an activity for all classrooms.

·         October 23^rd: Parent’s Night out from 6 – 9pm. Please check our Friday news for prices and more information. This parent’s night out is a fundraising for our upcoming Holiday Party in December. Thanks for your support!

·         October 30th: Afternoon Costume Parade and Trunk and Treat. Donations for healthy snack and treats for children (appropriate for their age) are welcome.  Sign-up sheets will be posted outside each class. You will receive more information soon regarding this activity. Parent participation is encourage.
