Sapitos Class
Miss Amparo and Miss Silvia
Week of (Semana de):  June 15st – June 19th
Theme of the Week (Tema de la Semana):
 Summer is here/El verano llego.

Hola Sapitos Parents!
Are you ready for summer? Welcome to our dynamic, enjoyable, and fabulous Summer Camp at Sff! We have prepared many fun activities that your children will enjoy. We will have Zumba, soccer, music, swim/splash, cooking, science projects, art projects, and much more.  Part of our mission during the summer camp is to work with recycled material. This week we will collect various recycled materials, including: newspapers, plastic bottles, and cake plastic lids for our activities. Please bring as much as you can. Because a Father is the second most wonderful person after a Mother, our children will honor and express their love and affection to dad, this Friday afternoon. Please mark your calendar and don’t miss this wonderful event. We will be the Green Team, so please come wearing a green T-shirt, and be prepared to play games and have a lot of fun with your children.

Tips:
·         Talk to your child about summer weather.
·         Keep your mind fresh this summer. Go to the local Library and get some books to read to your child. Here there is a book list that you can look at the Library :

o    Hooray for Summer! by Kazuo Iwamura,
o    Caterina and the Lemonade Stand by Erin Eitter Kono,
o    Froggy Goes to Camp by Jonathan London,
o    How Do You Know It's Summer? by Lisa M. Herrington,
o    It's Summer by Linda Glaser,
o    Let's Count Summer by Alina Niemi,
o    Summer Beach Day by Liesbet Siegers,
o    Summer Beat by Betsy Franco.

Friendly Reminders:
·         If you would like to bring sunscreen (cream not spray) for your child, please make sure to check the expiration date, fill out the form, and bring it in a labeled Ziploc bag. Parents please apply the sunscreen in the morning - we will do in the afternoon. Thank you for your cooperation.
·         Please, don’t forget to label all your child’s belongings (towel, hat, blanket, and a set of extra cloths).
·         Toys are not allowed in the classroom, unless the teachers ask them for a special activity that will be announced in their classroom blog.
