Week of April 27th- May 1st

Sapitos Class
Miss Amparo and Miss Silvia
Week of April 27th-May 1st
Theme of the Week: "People and Music Around the World"

Hello Sapitos parents!
We hope you had a great weekend!
Our children we will be learning  more about people, traditions and different important places in the African Continent this week. The African continent is recognized for its art, dance, and music. Today, their melodies reveal a number of different styles such as gospel, jazz, and rock. Art is also satisfying a mixture of traditional and modern.

To excite things, we will create masks, necklaces, and we will dance as many countries of this continent do. We will learn more about their geography, climate, and export products in some countries.

At home you can encourage your child to create a mask using paper plates, paper bags, or cardboard. You can use secondary colors to  paint, that way your child can identify them in a fun way!

Also, for this week our goal will be for children to recognize and name the secondary colors (cognitive), use plurals (language), and working group and share (socio-emotional).

Star Words of the Week (Palabras estrellas de la semana):
     African (africano)

     Hospitable (hospitalario)

     Masks (mascaras)

     Sculptures (esculturas)

Friendly Reminders:
Please make sure your child has extra clothes in her/his cubby.

Please read your child’s journal every day that way you can know what your child learned at class and you can strengthen it at home.

Please advise teachers if your child has been sick or if she or he had a bad night that will help us to determine if she or he is able to participate in class activities.

Thank you notes:

Have a great weekend!
