Week of April 20th-24th

Sapitos Class
Miss Amparo and Miss Silvia
Week of April 20th – April 24th
Theme of the Month/Week (Tema del Mes/ Semana): People, music and countries around the world

Hello Sapitos Parents!
Our children will continue “traveling” around the world. This week they will explore some of the fifty countries that make-up the European Continent.  We will learn about their flags, the most important places to visit, their languages, the different races, and their traditional dresses and music. This is an important part of our curriculum:to prepare our children to know, appreciate, and respect the cultural diversity.

Our Sapitos will have a special activity to celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday 22. They will learn how to take care of our planet using the “Three R” law: Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle.

April is the National Poetry Month, and our Sapitos will explore the treasures from the world of poetry through the Classical Baby (I’m Grown Up Now): The Poetry Show. (DVD)

This week the Sapitos will also start writing their names in their notebooks and on every art project.

Tip: You can help your children practice his/her name at home with the template that we will send this week. Please check your child’s cubby to find it.

We will also make fun activities this week to reinforce colors, numbers, shapes, and vowels. We will  continue exploring the world of science with interesting experiments.

Star Words of the Week (Palabras estrellas de la semana):
     Europa (Europa)
     Races (Razas)
     Languages (Idiomas)
     Tourism Sites (Sitios turisticos)

Special Events, Welcome and Birthdays (Eventos especiales, Bienvenidas y Estudiante de la Semana):

Happy Birthday, EVA SOFIA!  She will turn four on Tuesday the 21st.

Sammy the frog, our traveling pet, will visit Quincy’s house this week. We hope you have fun spending time together. Please, don’t forget to record your activities to share with your classmates and teachers.

Friendly Reminders:
When helping your child write at home, make sure he/she holds their writing utensil using the correct grip: “Dynamic Tripod”.
We are still missing some Family Art Projects. Please bring it back by Friday.
Parents, please help us by making sure to wash your child’s hands when arriving to the classroom.
