Week of May 11th-15th

Sapitos Class
Ms. Amparo & Ms. Silvia
Theme of the week: “How Things Work"
Week of May 11th – May 15th

Hello Sapitos parents.
I hope you had a great weekend! For this week our goal will be for the children to exercise their brains, their thoughts, and their bodies to examine and see what they perceive, sense, and experience.  We’ll be using discoveries, such as: the microscope, the camera, and electricity. Children will appreciate pictures and a video of the first microscope and they will learn why it was invented. They will acquire an understanding how the microscope works. Also, they will understand the importance of the electricity. Children will discover what things need electricity and which ones
don’t. This will make them question how things would work without electricity. To spice it up a bit I will ask all the parents to collaborate in an individual recording (by me) and share a few words with your child which will be shown to them afterwards.

What exciting activities we will have for this week! You can strengthen them at home in a fun way such as turning off the lights and asking them try to do the usual things they do every day!

Ask them if it was easier or harder without the electricity! Share with us what were their answers with us and we can discuss them in class.

Friendly Reminders:
Please make sure your child has extra clothes in her/his cubby.
Please read your child’s journal every day that way you can know what your child learned in class and you can strengthen it at home.
Please advise teachers if your child has been sick or if she or he had a bad night that will help us to determine if she or he is able to participate in class activities.

 Important Upcoming Dates:
May 11-15th - Fair Science
May 25th- Memorial Day- School Closed

Thank you notes:
We want to thank to all our Sapitos moms for coming to our class on Friday to celebrate.

Mother’s Day together. Our children enjoyed working on their gifts for you!

Have a great weekend!

Miss Silvia and Miss Amparo
