Sapitos Class
Ms. Amparo & Ms. Silvia
Theme of the week: “How Things Work”
Week of May 18th-May 22nd
Hello Sapitos Parents,
The school year is almost over, we have a month left, and our Sapitos have grown a lot, physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. They have learned new things and acquired so many skills that allow them now to be more independent and self-confident. We, as teachers, are very proud of all of them. We also have to recognize the tremendous effort of our wonderful parents, who have supported our job working with their children at home, without your help we couldn’t do this.
As our Sapitos will continue developing their knowledge and curiosity
through observation, exploration, and investigation about the great inventions,
and how this inventions are so important in our daily life; this week, they
will also be learning how social media helps us to communicate with each other,
and how it can transform way we live.
On Friday our Sapitos will do some special activities to remember and
honor the men and women who have died fighting for our country, in observance
of Memorial Day.
Our goal is to make our children recognize and name social media, and
the importance of using them in the right way.
Tips:
· Talk to your child about
the importance of watching educational programs, instead of only cartoons, on
TV or other devices
· Go to the NAEYC and
Fred Rogers Center to get some guidance on best practices for technology, media,
and early childhood. We will also
establish a “Framework for Quality” on how to determine quality media tools for
your child.
Friendly Reminders:
· Please, send an
empty envelop with stamp this Monday. Your child will surprise you this
weekend, check your mail box!
· Spread the word to
your family, friends, and coworkers. Everyone is welcome every Tuesday at 10.30
am during this month for a great Story Time at Sff!
· If you have a
family member that serves in the US Army, Navy, or Air Force, please send a
picture of him/her by Thursday to show our Sapitos in our special activity this
Friday.
· Please, keep
helping your child to practice writing his/her name, recognizing numbers (1-20)
and vowels, at home. Thank you.
