Sapitos Class
Ms. Silvia
& Ms. Amparo
Theme of the week: “The Universe and I ” (El
Universo y yo)
Week of June 8th - June
12th
Hello Sapitos Parents,
I hope you had a great weekend! We are at the end of our school year! We are so excited
to see how the children have grown! They have done a great job with their
scholarship development during this year. We’re sure they will make extraordinary
advances in Ositos class. Summer camp is coming! We will have fun activities in
which our Sapitos will feel happy and loved!
This week, we will talk about the moon. We will observe
pictures of the different phases of the moon and talk about the difference
between each one. We will make a space ship in which children will pretend to
fly to the moon! Also, children will play making the figure of the moon using
sand, corn flour, and water. All these
ingredients mixed will help them to imagine the texture of the moon’s surface.
At home, you can encourage your child to draw the moon in
its different phases. Explain in your words that the moon is illuminated because
it reflects the light from the sun. Take the
time to walk with him/her outside at night and ask them to find it!
Friendly Reminders:
·
Make sure your child has extra clothes in her/his
cubby.
·
Read your child’s journal every day that way you can
know what your child learned at class and you can strengthen it at home.
·
Take your child’s blanket home every Friday to wash
it.
·
Take your child’s art work which is in his/her cubby
every day.
Important Upcoming Dates:
June
5th: Report cards will be sent home.
June
8th – 12th: Red shirt swap
June
11th: Parents/Teacher conferences - Please sign up in the sheet that will be
outside of the classroom if you would like to have a conference about your
child’s development, and let Miss Amparo or I know if you need an arrangement
of the time for the conference.
Thank you notes:
I
want to thank to all the parents for all congratulatory words and
demonstrations of love that I received for my birthday. I had a special time
with our Sapitos. They made me feel loved! I am very fortunate to be their
teacher! Muchas gracias!
Have
a great weekend!
Miss Silvia and Miss Amparo
