Week of February 15th. – February 19th.

Theme of the Week (Tema de la Semana): “Young Scientists”

 

Hola Sapitos Parents,

This week our Sapitos will be our little scientists. They will make small, age-appropriate experiments that will enable them to acquire new knowledge from experimentation, observation, description of facts, and analysis of results. With this theme we want children to learn a few different concept like organizing ideas and facts in a particular order. We want to encourage creativity, imagination, and enthusiasm to create new things. The experiments that will take place this week you can see in The Science Fair in the week from february 22nd to 26th

At home, you can help us by talking to your child about experiences you have had in school with a science experiments. You could also show how everyday facts of life can help them experience and discover new things, such as: when mom or dad mix some ingredients to prepare a specific meal, the result obtained by mixing the ingredients, and the point of interest while we investigate, among others.

Our objectives by areas this week are:

·         Socio-emotional: Participates in classroom and school activities.

·         Cognitive: Participates in experiments.

·         Physical Development: Pours water from a pitcher to a glass.

·         Language: Responds to oral question

Special Events, Welcome and Birthdays (Eventos especiales, Bienvenidas y viaje de la mascota):

This week our Traveling Pet “Sammy” will visit Colton Martin’s house. He is so excited to have fun with Colton and his family.

Friendly Reminders:

·         Please when you drop off your child take the time to do an appropriate transition.

·         Please bring extra clothes and a blanket for your child.

·         Please read your child’s journal every day, that way you can know what your child is learning during activities and you can support them at home.

·         Please no toys allowed unless the teacher authorizes so.

February 22-26: Science fair Week.
