Theme of the Week (Tema De la  Semana): “My Country” “Mi Pais”

Hellos Sapitos Parents,
I hope you have had a good weekend. For this week we will continue talking about the theme of “My Country”. Children will learn more about the characteristics of some states around of the United States and the most visited places in those states. To excite things, we will pretend to travel in an airplane they will look through a “cardboard window” at pictures that represent the different states. Also, the children will learn more about North Carolina history and Cherokee life. In addition, we will pretend to be Cherokee. We will wear necklaces, bracelets, an aigrette, and living in teepee tent. We want to encourage children to learn more about their country by pretend play. Pretend play is much more than simple play activities. Through pretend play, children learn to do things like negotiate, consider other’s perspectives, transfer knowledge from one situation to another, balance their own ideas with others, and develop a plan and act on it.
