Week of February 1^st. – February 5^th. .

Theme: “Como funcionan las cosas/ How Things Work”

Hola Sapitos Parents,

The theme during the month of February is “How Things Work .” We will begin this week by learning how the electronic and technological devices work, our Sapitos will learn about how to operate home appliances, cleaning appliances, personal artifacts, and how industries and machines work. The main objective of this theme is that the children, through knowledge of the objects that surround them, will discover new ways to create and innovate, encourage imagination and creation of new objects, which is why to stimulate the creativity of children during this week the children will make a phone with paper cups, make a robot with boxes and more exciting activities.

At home you can help us this week by involving your son or daughter in some housekeeping activities, such as: helping you select clothes from the laundry, showing them cleaning supplies and objects that you use most in home and personal items that your child and the parents use every day. 

Our objectives by areas this week are:
Socio-emotional: Participates in classroom and school activities.
Cognitive: Counts from 0 to 15.
Physical Development: Traces straight and curved lines.

Language: Sorts and sequences of 3 images.

Special Events, Welcome and Birthdays (Eventos especiales, Bienvenidas y viaje de la mascota):

We are about to start one of our special activities “ The Traveling Pet” During this activity our sapitos get the opportunity to take “Sammy the Frog” home. During that week your child can have special activities with Sammy, for example: go for an ice cream, take a walk to the park, or watch a movie. Please just make sure to take pictures to share with the class. Sammy will be visiting all the Sapitos houses!  Make sure to return him on Monday, we want to have him ready for other friends to take it home.

Special Activity:

The month of love and friendship is here and we want to celebrate with our kids. For this we would like to ask for your help by bring to school some goodies to share with the class, for example: Cards, Stickers, Play dough, gold fish and gummies any other items that you consider a good option. This special activity will be celebrated in each classroom.

 Friendly Reminders:

·         Make sure your child washes their hands when they arrive to the classroom.

·         Take all art works that are in your child’s cubby.

·         Encourage your child to stay calm when you bring her/him at school before circle time so she/he can have free time to play. Circle time starts at 8:45 a.m.

·         Please no toys allowed unless the teacher authorizes so.

February 22-26: Science fair week.
