Theme of the Week (Tema De la Semana): “We are artists” /“Somos artistas”

Dear Sapitos Parents,

We hope you have had a good weekend. For this next week we will talk about art, famous painters, and how children can become artists when they do art works at school or home. Art is very important in the lives of children. Art is a language that will help the child express themselves through different elements. Creativity and imagination have an important role in this process. Art helps the child to express their entire inner world. There are other benefits of art for children. It helps them to be sensitive to others, giving them freedom of expression, and learn to innovate. Also, children will learn more about painters, including: Picasso, Da Vinci, Mona Lisa, and Van Gogh. In addition, children will develop all their artistic skills, using different art techniques, such as: color mixing, self-portrait, starry night, abstract paint, and free technique chosen by the child.

Friendly Reminders:

·         Please make sure your child washes his/her hands when he/she arrives at the classroom.

·         Please bring extra clothes and blanket for your child.

·         Please read your child’s journal every day that way you can know what your child is learning during activities and you can support them at home.

·         Please no toys allowed unless the teacher authorizes so.

·         Children that have difficult completing homework at home can complete it at the center.  Please let us know if this is the case, and please be sure to return the notebook each week.
